What to Expect in Your First Class

Pronto Pilates offers a fantastic way to build strength, improve flexibility, and boost your overall well-being.

But, we get it, trying something new can be a little intimidating. And you might be asking yourself…

How do I use the equipment?

What’s with all the springs and straps?

Is it right for me?

Worse still, what if everybody else in the class knows what they’re doing and I do the completely wrong thing?

Let’s Break Down These Concerns, Shall We?

As a beginner, it’s essential to start with foundational exercises that set the groundwork for your Pilates practice. It’s why at Pronto we have created a detailed Orientation Class. Our orientation class will teach you everything you need to know to get the most out of your classes.

This highly detailed video led class will break down how to use each part of the reformer and you’ll get to practice some basic moves.

Building on Your Confidence

We then encourage members to move to our Foundation Classes. Remember, mastering the basics will pave the way for more advanced moves later on, so take your time – we were all beginners at some point.

If you have any pre-existing health conditions or injuries, it’s essential to consult with your healthcare provider before starting Pilates. Remember, Pilates is gentle on the joints, making it suitable for most people, but safety always comes first!

Adding Layers and Advancing Your Practice

As you become more comfortable with Pilates, you’ll naturally want to challenge yourself and take your practice to the next level. That’s the beauty of Pilates—it grows with you! And this is where our Open Classes come in.

Explore different variations of exercises, or simply try the harder spring options. Using props like hand weights and the pilates circle also adds a new challenge! As your strength improves, you’ll notice that you can take on more advanced moves that once seemed out of reach. So keep challenging yourself and celebrate your progress along the way!

    Is an instructor in the orientation class ?

      Hi Roselle, All classes (including the orientation class) are 100% video-led. No instructor in the class; but rest assured this is a very comprehensive Orientation class - step by step of all the parts of the reformer and your chance to practice foundational moves. Our new members, those brand new to reformer Pilates, love how thorough it is.
